Back to Reality

After 4 amazing weeks of travel, it's time to settle back into life...back into reality---but luckily only long enough to fund the next adventure.
On Wednesday, Mat returned to work on the Sand Falcon. This is now a permanent position, which means that from now, until forever, Mat will work for 3 weeks and be off for 3 weeks. I've already started the countdown, and once I wake up tomorrow, it'll only be 19 days until he's home. It is actually a leave system, which means it will definitely be every 3rd Wednesday for both starting and stopping work. With this schedule, we can plan our holidays forever. Wonderful!!!
Back in London I was able to find a great place to live. I'll be lodging in a home in East London (Leytonstone, to be exact) for 3 weeks. I have a great room in a great house. The house is owned by a very sweet lady and she rents out 2 of her rooms...that means only 3 people to share a whole house with.
Here is what it's like:
Two benefits to living in a person's home...TV and a couch.
The kitchen is very tidy. I have my own space in the fridge and cupboards and access to all appliances---like a rice cooker!

There's even a TV in here, so you can get the news while cooking and eating. Brilliant.

My room is also pretty darn good.

Note the ample storage

and the very comfortable King size bed. The feather duvet is also very warm and super poofy. It feels very luxurious.

So it seems that eventhough returning to reality is not much fun (the kids were particularly annoying this week), life is still good. A nice kitchen, a good bed...and only 19 days until I get to have another wild adventure with my best friend, the love of my life.

Glad to hear that things are working out. The kitchen reminds me of my mom's, she always had a yellow with white trim kitchen.
Hope the kids get better(or your mood towards them). Three weeks is a short time when you really think about it.

Love ya

Wonderful! The house looks great. Is it more affordable than the last place? Where will you and Mat travel next? How excellent that you can make plans now. No more of this "well if he finishes this day we'll do this but if not...." Great news!!!!!

Hope the kids behave for you.
